Solo Soprano, SATB Choir, Brass Quintet and Strings (alternative orchestrations: 8-part Brass & Organ; 4-part Brass & Organ)

First performed in London 1982. Subsequent UK perfomances include London, Hertfordshire, Cumbria and Derbyshire. US premiere in Cleveland, Ohio 1985. Other US performances in Illinois and Arkansas.

 

Sinfonietta

String Orchestra

First performed in London 1984 (Greenwich Festival Commission). Subsequent performances include Kent and Norfolk.

 

Gallipoli Fanfares

Brass Quintet

First performed in London 1987 (Gallipoli Memorial Lecture Trust Commission) in the presence of HRH the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Subsequent performances include Breckenridge, USA and London (Goldsmiths College Presentation Ceremony 1995 - 3 performances).

 

Arthur and the Sword

Mini-Opera for children – Libretto by Sue Coe

First performed in London 1992 by Blackheath Opera Workshop. Subsequent performances in Kent and Derbyshire.

 

Belper – the Musical

Cantata for unison/2 part Choir, 2 Fls / 3 Cls / Tbn / Perc / Piano

First performed as the Belper Combined Schools Production in March 1996. A collaboration between Michael Coe and pupils at Belper School, Derbyshire, with additional music and lyrics contributed by local primary schools. Excerpts were later performed in the Derby Assembly Rooms accompanied by full orchestra. The work received three further performances in April 2000 as part of Belper’s Millennium celebrations.

A Fanfare for the Millennium

Winner of the HRGB Millennium Music Competition. Performed at the Opening Ceremony of the 9th International Handbell Symposium at Birmingham, England in August 2000. Published by Lorenz Corporation, USA.

2003. Commissioned for Massed Ringing at the HRGB National Rally, Glasgow 2004.

Commissioned by Tideswell Male Voice Choir and first performed on 9 July 2005.
